While they never found success in the States, Boney M was a huge force in Europe in the 1970s. Created by producer Frank Farian, Boney M consisted of Marcia Barrett, Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams and Bobby Farrell. The group's hit singles include "Baby Do You Wanna Bump?," "Daddy Cool," "Ma Baker," "Belfast," "Rivers of Babylon"/"Brown Girl in the Ring," "Rivers of Babylon" the group's only top 40 U.S. hit, "Rasputin," "Mary's Boy Child"/"Oh My Lord," and "Painter Man."
Daddy Cool centers on Sunny Harvey, who finds himself at the center of a battle between East and West London crews. Sunny is from West London, but falls in love with the daughter of an East End club owner. The show will not only include songs made famous by Boney M, but will also include some tunes from Farian's other artists, notably Milli Vanilli.
