Paul Vogt and Eddie Mekka Set to Headline Hairspray in Las Vegas
Vogt recently appeared in the musical version of Happy Days in California. He is best known for his performances in Mad TV and The Rerun Show in which he notably played The Facts of Life's Mrs. Garrett. In addition to Happy Days, his theatrical credits include Assassins, Below the Belt, Sylvia, Coriolanus, Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing and Beanstalk.
Mekka is best known for his portrayal of Carmine "The Big Ragoo" Ragusa on the hit television series Laverne & Shirley. He received a Tony nomination for his performance in The Lieutenant and also appeared on Broadway in Jumpers and The Magic Show.
In addition to Fierstein and Latessa, the Las Vegas company of Hairspray currently includes Katrina Rose Dideriksen as Tracy Turnblad, Austin Miller as Link Larkin, Fran Jaye as Motormouth Maybelle, Chandra Lee Schwartz as Penny Pingleton, Terry Lavell as Seaweed, Susan Anton as Velma Von Tussle and Kevin Spirtas as Corny Collins.
