Broadway Grosses: Attendance Tops 12,000,000 for 2005-2006 Season

On May 31, Broadway received its year-end report card from the League of American Theatres and Producers for the 2005-2006 season, which began on May 20, 2005, and ended on May 28, 2006. Stats for this 52-week period are more promising than ever, revealing that paid attendance reached 12,003,148, up 4.1% from last season. According to the League, this is Broadway's first step across the 12 million mark. Other records include percentage of seats filled 81.6%, the highest ever and grosses that were increased from $768.5 million to $861.6 million—a full 12% and a new high. Hats off to the Great White Way!
