Amy Brenneman to Star in A Nervous Smile at Williamstown

Five-time Emmy nominee Amy Brenneman will headline the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of John Belluso's A Nervous Smile. Gilmore Girls alum Scott Cohen set for Broadway's upcoming Losing Louie, Gloria Reuben a two-time Emmy nominee for her work on ER and Deirdre O'Connell will also appear.

Brenneman first rose to popularity appearing in NYPD Blue as Janice Licalsi, a role that earned her two Emmy nominations. After leaving that show, she co-created, starred in and produced the successful CBS series Judging Amy. Brenneman received another three Emmy nominations for playing Judge Amy Gray. Her off-Broadway credits include The Learned Ladies and God's Heart which she did in 1997, after her stint on NYPD Blue but before Judging Amy.

In A Nervous Smile, a young girl with cerebral palsy is locked in the prison of her own body. Will her parents do the unthinkable, and abandon her to escape the bruising reality of her care?

The WTF mounting, directed by Maria Mileaf, is scheduled to run on the Nikos Stage from July 26 through August 6.
