Kendal is a veteran of the National Theatre, where she appeared in the original productions of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and On the Razzle, as well as taking over from Diana Rigg in the West End transfer of the National's production of Humble Boy. Her other West End credits include productions of Stoppard's The Real Thing, Jumpers, Hapgood and Indian Ink. She has regularly worked with Hall, including his original production of Amadeus at the National, Moliere's Tartuffe at the Playhouse, An Absolute Turkey at the Globe now Gielgud, Waste and The Seagull both at the Old Vic, and Beckett's Happy Days at the Arts. Russell, who is currently starring in the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, was previously seen in the original cast of the current London revival of Guys and Dolls. She has also worked for the RSC and National Theatre.
