Chicago's 2006 Joseph Jefferson Awards Announced

The 2006 Joseph Jefferson Awards were presented November 6 in Chicago. Court Theatre led with 10 awards, including six for the musical Man of La Mancha and four for August Wilson's Fences. A Marvelous Party: The Noel Coward Celebration presented by Northlight Theatre and Geva Theatre Center also received four awards, including Production— Review.

The Goodman Theatre creative team of Robert Falls and Roche Schulfer received a Special Award for their 20-year collaboration. New works recognized by the committee were the musical Loving Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein from About Face Theatre and the Museum of Contemporary Art, written by Stephen Flaherty and Frank Galati; and Voyeurs de Venus written by Lydia R. Diamond, produced at Chicago Dramatists.
