Primary Stages will stage the world premiere of Brooke Berman's Hunting and Gathering as its fourth play of the 2007-2008 season, directed by Leigh Silverman. Performances begin January 22, 2008, for a limited run through March 1, 2008. Opening night is February 5.
Hunting and Gathering focuses on four interconnected New Yorkers—absorbed by the universe of Craig's List, laptops, and Scandinavian furniture—who seek a home in a world of temporary sublets, couch-surfing and unstable love.
Berman's play joins the trio of previously announced New York premieres at Primary Stages next season: Opus by Michael Hollinger July 24-September 1, Dividing the Estate by Horton Foote September 18-October 27 and Something You Did by Willy Holtzman March 18-April 26, 2008.
