Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which was a holiday hit last year at the Hilton Theatre, will be back on Broadway again later this year. The musical will play the St. James Theatre, vacant since the closing of The Producers, from November 1 to January 6, according to The New York Times.
Conceived by Tony Award winning director Jack O'Brien currently Tony-nominated for The Coast of Utopia, How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a stage adaptation of the popular illustrated children's book of the same name. Directed by Matt August, the musical features book and lyrics by Timothy Mason and music by Mel Marvin.
Although no casting has been announced at this time, last year's inaugural Broadway staging of the show which is a holiday tradition at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego featured Lion King lead Patrick Page as the Grinch.
