LoveMusik follows the lives of the unlikeliest of lovers: the brilliant, intellectual German composer Kurt Weill Michael Cerveris and the woman who became his muse and star, Lotte Lenya Donna Murphy. Set in Berlin, Paris, Broadway and Hollywood, LoveMusik spans 25 years in the life of this complicated couple.
In addition to Cerveris and Murphy, the production also features Outer Critics Circle Award winner, and Tony Award nominee David Pittu Bertolt Brecht and John Scherer George Davis, with Judith Blazer, Edwin Cahill, Herndon Lackey, Erik Liberman, Ann Morrison, Graham Rowat, Rachel Ulanet and Jessica Wright.
On June 23, Manhattan Theatre Club will host the season's final edition of their successful new discussion series "After Words: LoveMusik" at the Biltmore. The featured guests will be choreographer Patricia Birch and Broadway.com contributor John Simon. The discussion will be moderated by David Shookhoff, MTC's Director of Education.
LoveMusik has been produced by Manhattan Theatre Club by special arrangement with Marty Bell, Aldo Scrofani, Boyett Ostar Productions, Tracy Aron, Roger Berlind/Debra Black, Chase Mishkin, and Ted Snowdon.
