You've heard of a show closing during previews? Well, the producers of Doug Grissom's Elvis People have announced that the play will open off-Broadway as scheduled on June 21 and then close on June 23, "barring a marked change in sales," according to a production release. The show will then have played 20 previews and four regular performances at New World Stages.
Directed by Henry Wishcamper, Elvis People features Jordan Gelber, Jenny Maguire, David McCann, Nick Newell, Nell Page and Ed Sala as characters whose lives were forever changed by "The King," as Grissom traces the influence of Presley on our culture.
Elvis People has scenic design by Cameron Anderson, costume design by Teresa Squire, lighting designer by Robert Robins, sound design by Graham Johnson, wig, hair and make-up design by Erin Kennedy Lunsford, video & projection design by Maya Ciarrocchi and properties design by Lorelei Esser.
