Second Stage Theatre will extend its production of Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice for one week, through July 28. Directed by Les Waters, the production opened off-Broadway on June 18 and was originally scheduled to run through July 21.
Ruhl re-imagines the classic myth of Orpheus and Eurydice through the eyes of its heroine. When Eurydice abruptly dies on her wedding day, she must journey through the underworld, reunite with her father and struggle to retain the memories of her lost love.
The company of Eurydice includes Maria Dizzia in the title role, Gian-Murray Gianino, Carla Harting, Ramiz Monsef, Joseph Parks, Charles Shaw Robinson and Mark Zeisler. The production has set design by Scott Bradley, costume design by Meg Neville, lighting design by Russell H. Champa and sound design by Bray Poor.
