The Signature Theatre Company announced today that due to ticket demand, its production of Charles Mee's Iphigenia 2.0 will extend for one week, through October 7. The play, directed by Tina Landau, was originally scheduled to run through September 30.
Iphigenia 2.0 is Mee's radical reinvention of Euripides' classic play, which examines the cost of war and loss of innocence. A great imperial power decides to go to war, taking an action so wrong that it sets the empire on the road to complete self-destruction. Agamemnon, the leader of the Greek army, must prove to his uncertain troops that the dangerous battle they are about to undertake is righteous and worthy by making the ultimate sacrifice himself.
The cast for Iphigenia 2.0 includes Jimonn Cole Soldier, Will Fowler Soldier, J.D.
