Tony Nominee Eve Best Joins The Homecoming

Tony nominee Eve Best has joined the cast of the forthcoming Broadway revival of Harold Pinter's The Homecoming in the role of a mysteriously seductive wife. Best joins previously announced cast members Ian McShane, Raul Esparza and Michael McKean. The play begins previews on November 23 at the Cort Theatre, with opening night set for December 9, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

A Best Play Tony winner in 1967, The Homecoming tells the story of a power struggle that ensues when the eldest son in a North London family returns home from America with his dangerously alluring new wife, played by Best. McShane will play the patriarch, with Esparza as his small-time pimp son and McKean as his chauffeur brother. The roles the eldest son the husband of Best's character and the oafish third son have not yet been cast.

Best received a 2007 Tony nomination for her Broadway debut performance as Josie Hogan opposite Kevin Spacey in A Moon for the Misbegotten. Her many London stage credits include starring roles in Hedda Gabler, Mourning Becomes Electra, Three Sisters, Macbeth, The Cherry Orchard, The Heiress, Hamlet, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, The Coast of Utopia and Cymbeline.

Produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, The Homecoming is set for a limited engagement on Broadway of 20 weeks.
