Ivan Hernandez Joins Cast of The Fantasticks

Ivan Hernandez will assume the role of El Gallo in The Fantasticks on September 17, replacing original cast member Burke Moses. Moses will be taking a short leave of absence from the off-Broadway production to play Sky Masterson in the American Musical Theatre of San Jose's production of Guys and Dolls.

Hernandez's stage credits include Romantic Poetry NY Stage and Film, Zhivago La Jolla Playhouse, The Most Happy Fella New York City Opera, Zorro NYC workshop, Two Gents Baltimore Centrestage, Mambo Kings Golden Gate and Senor Discretion Himself Arena Stage.

The Fantasticks features music by Harvey Schmidt and book and lyrics by Tom Jones. Jones also directs and co-stars as Henry under the pseudonym Thomas Bruce. The current production opened on August 23, 2006, at New York's Snapple Theater Center

In addition to Hernandez and Jones, the cast of The Fantasticks includes Julie Craig Luisa, John Deyle Hucklebee, Jordan Nichols The Mute, Robert R. Oliver Mortimer, Nick Spangler Matt and Martin Vidnovic Bellomy, with Stewart Marland, Richard Roland and Liz Holtan.
