Bob Saget Headed to Broadway in The Drowsy Chaperone

Actor/comedian Bob Saget will assume the leading role of Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone on October 19 for a four-month limited engagement. Saget will be making his Broadway debut as the show's narrator, a part originated by Bob Martin.

Saget made his off-Broadway debut in 2005 as a Park Avenue dad in Paul Weitz' Privilege. Best known as the star of the hit sitcom Full House and host of America's Funniest Home Videos, he is currently hosting the NBC game show 1 vs. 100. Saget recently guest-starred on the NBC series Law and Order: SVU and the HBO series Entourage and gave the raunchiest performance of an unprintable joke in the comedy documentary The Aristocrats. His films include Half Baked, Dumb and Dumberer and the animated Farce of the Penguins. He starred in an hour-long comedy special Bob Saget: That Ain't Right, which is currently airing on HBO and has been widely released on DVD.

The Drowsy Chaperone opened on May 1, 2006, at the Marquis Theatre, directed by Casey Nicholaw. The cast currently includes Jonathan Crombie as Man in Chair, Tony winner Beth Leavel in the title role, Mara Davi as Janet, Danny Burstein as Aldolpho, Troy Britton Johnson as Robert, JoAnne Worley as Mrs. Tottendale and Peter Bartlett as Underling.
