Tony Danza to Stay with Vegas Producers Until Closing

Tony Danza has extended his engagement as Max Bialystock in the Las Vegas production of Mel Brooks' The Producers for the run of the show, according to Variety. The musical is set to close on February 9, 2008, its one-year anniversary, at the Paris Las Vegas hotel.

Danza first played Bialystock on Broadway last winter, shortly before the show ended its six-year run at the St. James Theatre, and joined the Las Vegas cast in mid-August. As with most other Broadway transfers, The Producers was shortened to 90 minutes with no intermission for its Las Vegas run. No announcement has been made regarding a replacement production at the Paris Las Vegas theater.
