The Broadway production of Tracy Letts' August: Osage County has announced a five-week extension of its run at the Imperial Theatre, through April 13. The play, which had previously extended for three weeks after the Broadway stagehands strike, had been scheduled to end on March 9. Most of the show's cast members are based in Chicago, where they originated their roles last summer at the Steppenwold Theatre Company.
August: Osage County is the sprawling story of the troubled Weston clan of rural Oklahoma. When their patriarch vanishes, the three Weston daughters must return home to their troubled mother to get to the heart of the matter. The play was named to more than a dozen "best of the year" lists including that of Broadway.com.
The cast of August: Osage Countu includes Ian Barford, Deanna Dunagan, Kimberly Guerrero, Francis Guinan, Brian Kerwin, Dennis Letts, Madeleine Martin, Mariann Mayberry, Amy Morton, Sally Murphy, Jeff Perry, Rondi Reed and Troy West, directed by Anna D. Shapiro.
