Paradise Park Delays Start of Previews By Two Days

Signature Theatre Company announced that it has delayed the start of previews of Charles Mee's Paradise Park by two days "due to the complex technical requirements involved in producing this world premiere play," according to a production release. The show had been scheduled to start previews on February 12 but will now have its first official preview on February 14, with an invited dress rehearsal on February 13. Directed by Daniel Fish, with choreography by Peter Pucci, Paradise Park has an opening date of March 2 at the Signature's off-Broadway home, the Peter Norton Space.

Paradise Park is described as a show about an amusement park that opens up into all of America and beyond. The inhabitants of this bizarre carnival of life include a ventriloquist, his dummy and a teenage girl on the run. From Futureworld to Londonland, the Grand Canyon to Fred's Polynesian Dive Shop, the show features a collage-like journey through fruit cake tosses, underwater ballets, square dances and star gazing.

The cast of Paradise Park includes Vanessa Aspillaga, Satya Bhabha, Veanne Cox, Gian-Murray Gianino, William Jackson Harper, Christopher McCann, Paul Mullins, Alan Semok and Laurie Williams. It is Signature's third production in a season spotlighting Charles Mee, following Iphigenia 2.0 and Queens Boulevard the Musical.
