Next to Normal Extends for One Week at Second Stage

Second Stage Theatre has announced a one week extension of the new musical Next to Normal, which opened to strong reviews at the off-Broadway venue on February 13. Directed by Michael Greif, the show had been scheduled to close on March 9 but will now run through March 16.

With music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, Next to Normal stars Alice Ripley, Brian d'Arcy James, Adam Chanler-Berat, Jennifer Damiano, Asa Somers and Aaron Tveit.

Next to Normal addresses the question: How does an almost average family navigate today's over-stimulated and over-medicated world? In this darkly funny and haunting new musical, one suburban household confronts its past and its future. The show explores how far two parents will go to keep themselves sane and their world intact.
