Broadway Grosses: Spring Break Boosts Box Offices

Broadway box offices experienced a bit of a jump this past week, resulting in 16 shows playing to 90% capacity or better. Included was the revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, which filled the Broadhurst Theatre to 98.09% and grossed just shy of $700,000. Long-running musicals also got a boost, with Rent, now in its final months at the Nederlander Theatre, playing to almost 95% and grossing $527,080. Also on the rise was Spamalot, which grossed $797,267, and The Phantom of the Opera, which brought in $742,967.
