Williamstown Adds Beyond Therapy, Completes Season Lineup

Williamstown Theatre Festival has completed the lineup for its 54th season, the first under the leadership of Nicholas Martin. The summer theater announced most of its 2008 offerings last month. For a recap click here.

The season will begin with a production of Christopher Durang's Beyond Therapy on the Nikos Stage, starring Kate Burton. This classic comedy in which the lines between doctor and patient are hilariously blurred will run June 11-22, directed by Alex Timbers. After its Williamstown run, Beyond Therapy will play at the Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY, July 8-27.

The world-premiere of Broke-ology by recent Juilliard graduate Nathan Jackson will run July 9-20 on the Nikos Stage, directed by Thomas Kail In the Heights. In this moving drama, two brothers caring for their ailing father face the dilemma of following their dreams or honoring the unspoken promise of familial loyalty.

Completing the 2008 Nikos Stage season will be the world-premiere production of Not Waving by playwright and television writer Ellen Melaver, running August 6-17, directed by Carolyn Cantor. In this heartwarming play about the universal human need to be loved, three couples are drawn to a public beach with a troubled history.

The previously announced play Harriet Jacobs will not be presented this summer.
