Set on a football field, Glory Days chronicles the reunion of four high school friends who reunite one year after graduation. No longer carefree teenagers, the young men struggle to understand and reconnect with one another as they reminisce about the glory days of high school, when everything was simple. The score features a variety of music styles, from pop to folk to rock. Written by current Cry-Baby cast-member Nick Blaemire who is 23 years old, it is paired with a book from debut playwright James Gardiner also 23.
Call Andy is in the cast of the Broadway production of Cry-Baby and has appeared on Broadway in High Fidelity. Off-Broadway, he appeared in Altar Boyz and in the national tours of Altar Boyz and Saturday Night Fever.
There was no immediate word on when Call will depart Cry-Baby or whether Blaemire will continue his role in the show, which opens at the Marquis Theatre on April 24.
The creative team for Glory Days includes James Kronzer scenic design, Sasha Ludwig-Siegel costume design, Mark Lanks lighting design and Peter Hylenski sound design. Vocal arrangements are by Nick Blaemire and Jesse Vargas. Arrangements and orchestrations are by Vargas.
Glory Days will be produced by John O'Boyle, Ricky Stevens, Richard E. Leopold and Lizzie Leopold, and Max Productions in association with Signature Theatre.
