The League of Off-Broadway Theatres & Producers issued a revised list of nominees for the 2008 Lucille Lortel Awards on April 1, acknowledging an error in the roster distributed on March 31. Annie Dorsen has been nominated for Outstanding Director for the Public Theater's original off-Broadway production of Passing Strange. She replaces Daniel Fish, who had been announced as a nominee for the Signature Theatre Company's production of Charles Mee's Paradise Park. This correction means that Passing Strange received a total of three Lortel nominations and Paradise Park received one.
A press release announcing the correction included the statement, "The League of Off-Broadway Theatres & Producers extends its apologies for this error." A spokesman for the League declined to elaborate on how the error occurred. The Lortel Awards, which honor outstanding achievement off-Broadway, will be presented on May 5 at the Union Square Theatre. For a complete list of nominees, click here.
