Espinosa, Felciano, Lawrence Lead Cast of Reprise! Flora, the Red Menace in L.A.

Tony nominee Megan Lawrence The Pajama Game has joined the cast of the Reprise! production of Flora, the Red Menace in Los Angeles, starring Eden Espinosa Wicked, Brooklyn and Manoel Felciano Sweeney Todd. The Kander and Ebb musical, set to play at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, will preview May 6 before its limited run May 7 to May 18. Philip Himberg will direct.

Lawrence, Espinosa and Felciano will be joined by cast members Gibby Brand, Wilkie Ferguson, Perry Ojeda, Katie O'Toole, Matthew Rocheleau and Katherine Von Till.

Flora, penned by George Abbott with Robert Russell, features music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. The original 1965 production, directed by the playwright, starred Liza Minnelli in her Broadway debut as the intractable Flora, a young woman looking to make her way in 1930s New York, and earned the star a Tony Award for Best Actress. Set during New Deal-era America in the midst of the Great Depression, the musical discusses the battle between politics, love and personal beliefs. The show was produced off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre in 1987 with a revised book by David Thompson. Reprise! will use the Thompson book.
