Broadway Grosses: Box Offices Hold Steady as New Shows Begin Previews

As the spring season on Broadway shifted into gear, grosses remained fairly steady from the week before, with the top five musicals remaining in place. Overall, attendance was down slightly. New shows beginning previews included the revivals of Top Girls and Boeing-Boeing, and August: Osage ended its run at the Imperial, with a week off before moving next door to the smaller Music Box. Spring's big musical hit South Pacific continued to pack in audiences at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.
