Producers of the off-Broadway musical Adding Machine have announced that the show will extend its run at the Minetta Lane Theatre through August 31. Tickets for Adding Machine, which opened on February 25, had been on sale through June 29.
In addition to rave reviews, Adding Machine has received four Outer Critics Circle Award Nominations including Outstanding New Off Broadway Musical, six Lucille Lortel Award Nominations including Outstanding Musical and a Drama League Award Nomination for Distinguished Production of a Musical. The cast album, recorded by PS Classics, goes on sale at the theater and online May 20, two weeks ahead of the June 3 street date.
Adding Machine premiered at Chicago's Next Theatre Company last season, where it won the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Musical. The show features a score by Joshua Schmidt, who co-wrote the libretto with Jason Loewith, and was directed by David Cromer. The cast includes Cyrilla Baer as Mrs. Zero, Joel Hatch as Mr. Zero and Amy Warren as Daisy all reprising their acclaimed performances from the original production. Also featured are Joe Farrell as Shrdlu, Jeff Still as the Boss, Adinah Alexander as Mrs. Two, Niffer Clarke as Mrs. One, Roger E. DeWitt as Mr. Two and Daniel Marcus as Mr. One.
