Christine Ebersole, Patti LuPone, Christine Baranski, Charles Busch, Sierra Boggess and James Snyder are among the presenters who will appear at the 74th annual Drama League Awards ceremony and luncheon on May 16, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. The event will be hosted by Harvey Fierstein, librettist and star of A Catered Affair.
Ebersole, who was honored with the Drama League's Distinguished Performance Award in 2006 for Grey Gardens, will present this year's award in the same category. LuPone Gypsy will present the award for Distinguished Production of a Musical, and Baranski Boeing-Boeing will present the award for Distinguished Production of a Play.
Boggess The Little Mermaid and Snyder Cry-Baby will present the award for Distinguished Revival of a Musical, and Busch Die Mommie Die! will present the award for Distinguished Revival of a Play.
For the Drama League's three annual specialty awards, producer Roger Berlind will present the award for Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre to Paul Gemignani, former BAM Executive Director Harvey Lichtenstein will present the award for Unique Contribution to the Theatre to Ellen Stewart, and Lincoln Center Theater Artistic Director Andre Bishop will present the Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing to South Pacific director Bartlett Sher.
