Jim True-Frost will join the cast of Tracy Letts' August: Osage County on June 17 as Little Charles, replacing Ian Barford. The play is currently playing at Broadway's Music Box Theatre, directed by Anna D. Shapiro.
Little Charles is the much-maligned son of Mattie Fae and Charlie Aiken in Letts' Pulitzer Prize-winning family saga. His relationship with his cousin Ivy is the source of much drama in the course of the play, which centers on a reunion after the disappearance of the family patriarch.
Best known for his portrayal of Detective Roland ‘Prez' Pryzbylewski on HBO's The Wire True-Frost's New York stage credits include Buried Child, Philadelphia, Here I Come!, The Rivals and The Grapes of Wrath. A Steppenwolf Theatre Company member since 1989, his Chicago credits include The Homecoming, David Copperfield, Side Man, The Pillowman, The Playboy of the Western World, The Grapes of Wrath, and Killers Joseph Jefferson Award. His film credits include Diminished Capacity, Slippery Slope, Off the Map, Affliction, Singles, The Hudsucker Proxy and Far Harbor.
