Speed-the-Plow Revival Finds a Broadway Home

The 20th anniversary revival of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow has found a home, at Broadway's Belasco Theatre. The play, which stars Jeremy Piven and Raul Esparza, will begin previews on October 3, directed by Neil Pepe. The theater's current tenant, Passing Strange, is set to close on July 20.

Speed-The-Plow is Mamet's scathing portrait of the film industry and centers on ambitious producer Charlie Fox Piven and production executive Bobby Gould Esparza, who began their careers together in a Hollywood mailroom. Still to be cast is the role of Karen, the mysterious female assistant played by Madonna the 1988 Broadway premiere production of the play.

The revival of Speed-the-Plow is being produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Steve Traxler.
