Broadway Revival of For Colored Girls On Hold

The previously announced Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange's 1976 play For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf, which was to star Grammy winner India.Arie, is being "temporarily delayed," according to a statement from producers Whoopi Goldberg and DreamTeam Entertainment Group. The delay is the result of the recent loss of one of the production's key backers.

Previews had been slated to begin on August 19 at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre, in preparation for an official opening on September 8, directed by Shirley Jo Finney and choreographed by Hinton Battle.
