Directed by Mark Lamos, Buffalo Gal features Mark Blum Twelve Angry Men, Carmen M. Herlihy The Piano Teacher, Jennifer Regan Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Susan Sullivan The Fourth Wall, Dharma & Greg, James Waterson As You Like It and Dathan B. Williams Show Boat. Sullivan stars as Amanda, a once successful television personality who returns to hometown Buffalo to star in a local production of Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard. Just as Amanda begins to reconnect with her roots, Hollywood comes calling with an opportunity that could revive her fading career. Will her love of theater be enough to keep her in Buffalo?
Primary Stages' 2008-2009 season will continue with Lee Blessing's A Body of Water Sept. 30 – November 9, which will run in reparatory with Daniel Jenkins and Robert Stanton's two-man show Love Child October 12 – November 19, and be followed by Donald Margulies' Shipwrecked! An Entertainment – The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont As Told By Himself January 27 to March 7, 2009. The season will close with Tina Howe's world premiere comedy Chasing Manet, which runs March 24 to May 2, 2009.
