Monty Python's Spamalot will crown a king September 16, when Broadway veteran and original Spamalot national tour star Michael Siberry takes over the role of King Arthur. Siberry, who replaces current star Stephen Collins, has played the role on the road for over two years.
Siberry will join a cast featuring Tom Deckman, Rick Holmes, Bradley Dean, Robert Petkoff, Wally Dunn, Merle Dandridge and Clay Aiken. A native Australian, he has appeared on Broadway in Nicholas Nickleby, The Sound of Music and The Merchant of Venice. Siberry is also an alumnus of England's Royal Shakespeare Company, and has appeared abroad in productions such as School for Scandal, Chicago, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Private Lives.
Spamalot features a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, direction by Mike Nichols, choreography by Casey Nicholaw and is based on the screenplay of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
