The initial stage performance featured Morse who plays ad honcho Bertram Cooper, Batt closeted ad man Salvatore Romano, Colin Hanks Father John Gill in season two, Maggie Siff department store heiress Rachel Menken and Patrick Fischler sleazy TV pitchman Jimmy Barrett, hosted by Joel Murray ousted drunken ad exec Fred Rumsen. The performers sang Rat Pack-era songs ranging from early Dylan to pop and jazz standards accompanied by a 13-piece orchestra led by Mad Men composer David Carbonara.
Variety reports that other Mad Men actors who did not participate in the initial show are now interested in future dates. Meanwhile, Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss copywriter Peggy Olson is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Speed-the-Plow.
