Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk With Me Extends Off-Broadway

Mike Birbiglia’s solo show Sleepwalk With Me will extend for two months, though March 2009, at off-Broadway's Bleecker Street Theatre. The comedy, which opened on November 11, had previously been scheduled to run through January 18, directed by Seth Barrish.

In his theatrical debut, popular stand-up comedian Birbiglia takes the audience on a funny, personal journey through his struggles with sleepwalking and his fears of love, honesty and growing up. Nathan Lane, one of the show’s producers, says of Birbiglia, “Every once in a while, someone comes along who renews your faith in the art of stand-up comedy. It happened when I first saw Mitch Hedberg, and it happened again when I saw Mike Birbiglia. The energy in the room changes, and you realize you're in the presence of a fresh and original voice. And that is very rare.”
