Bradley Dean, Jonathan Schwartz, Ramona Mallory and Douglas Ullman Jr. will join the off-Broadway cast of long-runner The Fantasticks, currently playing at The Snapple Theater Center’s Jerry Orbach Theater, beginning March 30.
Dean Spamalot, Company takes over as El Gallo, succeeding current player Lewis Cleale. Schwartz regional: The Buddy Holly Story, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Mallory national tours Captain Louie, The Music Man step in as young lovers Matt and Luisa, respectively, replacing Amazing Race winner Nick Spangler and Betsey Morgan. Ullman Jr. returns to the production after stints as both Matt and the Mute, reprising his role as the Mute following predecessor Jordan Nichols. The new players join current cast members Tom Flagg, Gene Jones, Michael Nostrand, Evy Ortiz, Steve Routman, John Thomas Waite and Scott Willis.
The Fantasticks is a captivating and simple romantic comedy about a boy and girl who fall in and out of love at the hands of their meddling fathers. The audience uses its imagination to follow the narrator, El Gallo, as he creates a world of moonlight and magic until the boy and girl find their way back to one other. The score includes the hit songs “Try To Remember,” “They Were You” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain.”
