Stunning
"I have been waiting for this show for forty years.
Top notch cast. Brilliant staging. The vocal performances left me breathless. The chemistry of the cast members was mesmerizing to watch. It was a joy to watch Aaron Tveit, Lea Michelle, Nicholas Christopher, and Bryce Pinkham bring their characters to life onstage. I'll be watching for their future performances. And Mr Christophers' voice was one of the highlights for me personally.
Thank you to all of the cast and crew and everyone that made this show come to life. It is truly stunning."

Chess is great
"This was one of the most vocally amazing shows I have ever had the pleasure of attending. We had heard that the show itself and the writing was a bit “in your face” which is true and we did not care. The actors captivated our attention from the second they began singing. The main six performers in this show are EXCEPTIONAL! Their voices SOAR individually and collectively. Lea, Aaron, Nicholas and Hannah are FORCES of nature. To see and hear them perform is a true gift. "

Best version of show by far
"I have seen other versions of Chess which I loved but this was the best so far. It made the story clearer and the leads are just amazing . I love the arbiter role as well . Beautifully done. We flew to NYc just to see this show and it was well worth it. Just wish tickets were more affordable for others to see this great show ."

A SPECTACULAR performace by a brilliant cast
"Skip the reviews... those Broadway crtitics are completely out of touch with the typical audience and what they enjoy.
Lea Michell is one of the most brilliant and talented live theater actors of our time. Once again, she completely exceeded all the audience's expectations. Her performance was as talented and professional as her role in Funny Girl. But the big surprise (who can be surprised by an enormous talent like MIchelle) was her two co-stars, Aaron Tviet and Nicholas Christoper, whose singing talent is Tony-quality - with out question. And the general company is as good as you will find on Broadway, so kudos to all of them.
But my real accolades go to Lea Michelle. Her passion for the role of Florence is beyond star quality; my wife and I plan to be at every one of her future Broadway shows when the time comes. I am a 74-year old white Wall-Streeter, and she brought me to tears in a couple of her solo songs.
Kudos, cast... one of the best casts I have seen since Gower Champion's 42nd Street in the 1970s...."

Outstanding vocals!!
"I’ve seen Chess 4 times in the late 80’s/ early 90’s in NYC and London. I loved them. This production is s little diff but most of the famous songs are still in. The 3 main leads, Lea Michelle, Aaron Trevor and Nicholas Cristopher gave INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCES. STANDOUTs WERE Mr Christoper and Ms Michelle. I had front row seats for the 2:00pm show 1/6/26. Mr Christophers rendition of Anthem was extraordinary. Best vocal performance I’ve ever seen/heard. The emotion was over the top perfection. Short story: Go see this musical. I live in Fl and wish I could stay longer to see it again. "

Excellent rebirth
"The entire cast is talented and they all do justice to the story, the music. The band / orchestra also delivers a solid performance. For those who love and know Chess, this should not be missed. The minor rewrites helped keep this modern and makes the story line accessible welcoming to newcomers. If you have not seen it, go. I can't imagine anyone not leaving the theater a fan. "

The detail, dialogue, music & humour
"Nicholas Christopher, Lea Michele & Aaron Tveit all have terrific voices and delivered a masterful performance. The narrator pulled current references in his announcements to great effect and was very funny. Dialogue was clear, singers enunciated so that we could understand the songs even without having heard the soundtrack prior to the show. "

About
Chess
Chess is the iconic musical where power and passion collide, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman torn between them, everything—personal, professional, and political—is at risk… and nobody’s rules are the same.
