"Loved this play so much I've seen it twice. The three big stars were beyond amazing, voices and acting. The narrator was really good also. Dancing was very unique, well choreographed."

Blown Away
"Chess may be the best Broadway show I’ve ever seen. It tugged at every emotion. The voices were unbelievable and the acting was incredible. Lea Michelle oozes talent. She has an unforgettable voice. The last time I heard a voice like hers was when I heard Barbara Streisand in Washington DC 20 years ago! I can’t wait to see Chess again. "

A Great History Lesson?
"You will wonder can a chess game really affect the relationship between the Soviet nation and the U.S. A.? Watch the musical, Chess on Broadway, and the fantastic music, singers, and score will mesmorize you and make your decision difficult.
You will enjoy every minute, but it will not be easy to decide.

Star cast and engaging story
"Wow, what a cast to see! Such a special experience seeing Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, Nicholas Christopher. The story gets complex, but the humor, timing, and presence of the leads and Bryce Pinkham keep the story engaging. The One Night in Bangkok number is an amazing Act II opening. Each lead has a standout individual performance that showcases their star power. "

Chess- OMG
"I have liked Chess since it came out in london I the 80s. I loved it! Then the ny version ... Um .. there's a reason it didn't do well.
But In 2026 I went to Broadway to see it again & all I can say is OMG!! They redid it a third time. The story is roughly the same. The arbiter is still my favorite but as a narrator it told the story better.
Great story , great singing & choreography. GO SEE CHESS! ♟️"

Everything I hoped it would be
"I didn’t know that much about Chess the musical other than a few of the key songs. I wanted to see it due to Aaron Tveit who was amazing as always and was intrigued to see Lea Michelle who blew the audience away. Nicholas Christopher was outstanding as was the whole ensemble. The use of the Arbiter to narrate is genius and makes this accessible for those who may not know the plot (and he was also very funny). Don’t miss the chance to see this if you can - the best singing you’ll ever hear "

Incredible music and Powerful Singing
"Musical updated for 2026 from the original production of 1980.
Topical references and allusions were excellent.
The orchestra was slightly overmiked, causing lyrics to be drowned out during loud musical passages."

What a fantastic production
"Well worth going to Chess - I travelled from London and it was worth every mile. Great cast, humorous narrator and 3 top class leads who each delivered powerful and emotive performances. Watch out for Nicholas - his star is riding high. "

Truly fantastic!!
"Even with seeing some of the understudies for the lead roles thus was one of the best shows I have ever seen. The plot is very timely and the music and vocals we hands down some of the best I ever seen and heard. A truly remarkable show. "

Top 5 best theatre experience...ever!
"All love for this show. Lea, Aaron, Nicholas, Hannah and Bryce were off the charts fantastic! Vocally, it was an emotional experience. Every single, duet, trio, a masterpiece. The ensemble was absolutely fabulous both vocally and choreographically. I wished I could've turned around and watched it again. I've recommended it 5-6 times today, already. Mad props for Chess."

Powerful vocals
"I am a fan of this show since its first inception, so this was an incredible experience for me. I really liked what they did with the book, I think it was much improved. The 3 featured leads do not disappoint with the power ballads. And so many other strong performances from supporting cast and the ensemble. I really thought the orchestra was fantastic. My husband and 14 year old daughter were seeing it for the first time. They both really appreciated the music, but weren’t quite sure they liked the book/plot, particularly my daughter, but I don’t think it is a show for teens. I am Gen X and I loved it! Bravo!"

About
Chess
Chess is the iconic musical where power and passion collide, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. It’s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman torn between them, everything—personal, professional, and political—is at risk… and nobody’s rules are the same.
