A good adaptation but a slightly different take than the movie.
"The performers was good, dance routines were creative and the storyline was well adapted for the stage. Music was good but sometimes a bit difficult to hear all of the words. In general, I was not disappointed. "

Two Divas to Die For
"Rollicking, fast paced, witty script deftly delivered by the two bawdy stars. And by supporting troupe. Great over the top fun . I see why it garnered so many Tony nominations. "

Super fun, a bit silly, great adult jokes and music
"Overall very good. I had no idea what to expect going in, my wife wanted to go. She said it was a little more racy than she thought it would be, but stuck to the story of the movie pretty well. We both thought the lighting and effects and set were amazing. Glad we went, but won't go again (doesn't have the same replay value as Hamilton or Hadestown I think)"

An almost perfect new classic!
"I booked the show listening to the album for the first time. The classic sound, and over the top performances did not disappoint!
While it’s vulgar in some spots (teenagers should be fine with very huge smirks), the innuendos and staging is just impeccable.
You should go to the show if -
You like the feel of a new story with a classic, Broadway-esc feel.
Want to experience a beautiful, theater built over 100 years ago.
Things to consider -
The seats are not staggered, so keep that in mind as I had a very tall person in front of me. You might want to think about booking closer or further behind just for that reason alone. Be warned.
All in all, a great show, in a great theater with a lot of energy, a compelling story and some tunes to keep you singing for hours to come afterward!

You will see things you have definitely not seen before
"The scenery and costumes for many of the numbers are nothing short of spectacular. Come for entertainment, but don't expect a deep message. Dialogue is fast paced and witty and I imagine the songs were too, but we could not understand most of what they were saying. ENUNCIATE! There are two special effects/stunts (not sure WHAT I was seeing) that justified the ticket price on their own. "

Improves upon the 1992 film
"I loved the changes made to the original story. It’s also easy to see why this show won the Tony for costume design. We saw a show featuring Kaleigh Cronin in the role of Madeline and it’s hard to imagine anyone doing it any better. Michelle Williams is simply fantastic. I could watch her sing the alphabet and it would be riveting. The second half of the show did drag a bit, but it bounced back by the end."

About
Death Becomes Her
Madeline Ashton is the most beautiful actress (just ask her) ever to grace the stage and screen. Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author (just ask her) who lives in her shadow. They have always been the best of frenemies…until Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé away. As Helen plots revenge and Madeline clings to her rapidly fading star, their world is suddenly turned upside down by Viola Van Horn, a mysterious woman with a secret that’s to die for.
After one sip of Viola’s magical potion, Madeline and Helen begin a new era of life (and death) with their youth and beauty restored…and a grudge to last eternity.
Now a warning! You may not be ready for the unbelievable amount of comedy, glamour, and magic onstage at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Death Becomes Her is a “wildly entertaining, perfect musical comedy. It grabs the audience by the jugular and doesn’t let go” (Deadline). Starring Tony nominees Megan Hilty, Jennifer Simard, and Christopher Sieber, plus Grammy® winner Michelle Williams, with direction and choreography by Tony winner Christopher Gattelli, Death Becomes Her is “a laugh-filled, tuneful musical to die for” (Variety) and“a cheek-aching laughter roller coaster — the most fun night out on Broadway!” (The Daily Beast). Experience the “savagely funny” (Time Out) pop-culture phenomenon that’s been certified “hilarious” by The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Z100, Beyoncé (!!), Goldie Hawn, Superman aka David Corenswet, Michelle Williams (the other one), and countless fans on Instagram, TikTok, and beyond. See it now, and laugh for eternity.
