Very Compelling Show
"Wonderful performances by all the cast. The story was so well presented right up until the end. It was topical but also historical at the same time. Mr. Lithgow was perfect for this part "

A must see
"I had no idea of the history regarding Roald Dahl. The show was extremely well written and even more masterfully performed. The subject matter was as relevant now as it was in 1983. There was a palpable sense of discomfort in the audience as the dialogue unfolded. "

"Raw, relevant and important. Those that understand its significance will see it. Those that don’t want to hear and understand its message, will not. It is up to those of us who see this play to ensure they go. Buy them a ticket. "

Shouts and murmurs
"Intense and engaging. While seeing the flaws in Roald Dahl as portrayed by John Lithgow, his character was matched by the other actors. Shouts brought the divides into focus and left me wanting further discussions after the curtain fell. It took me a while to come back to the present. Highly recommend this to theater goers."

Still in his prime.
"John Lithgow, with a terrific supporting cast, delivers a stirring, disturbing, funny and moving performance in this all-too-timely play. At 80, he’s still st the top of his game. See it, but be prepared for some upsetting themes and a portrait of a largely dislikable real person. "

…..
"This was a master class, and not just by Mr. Lithgow. The entire cast was on their a-game. An especially powerful soliloquy was by Ms. Stone (character) ‘when you are not there for me and my son…” The play notes regarding the last speeches by Dahl as being verbatim created a powerful moment as we the audience heard what the man actually said."

Riveting performances by the entire cast.
"An insightful story about a complex individual, delivered with passion and a depth of feelings by the entire cast. Great theatre, you are on the edge of your seat - even unspoken moments of Mr. Lithgow convey intense and meaningful feelings. "

Lithgow was mesmerizing as Roald Dahl.
"He captured Dahl’s essence and the rest of the cast presented the other side of his issue well. Definitely a guestion of can we separate the artist from the art?"

Poignant Moral Questions
"Beautifully written & skilfully acted. While the events take place in 1983, the moral issues it raises are timely for us now. Issues of government action assigned to citizenry, Israel/Palestine conflict, & whether the morality/immorality of an artist should determine one’s appreciation of their work. Go see it & then talk about it! Makes for rich & important conversation."

This cast was stellar. What will draw you in, is the star power.
"This is not for the faint of heart. Powerful actors work with a refined and complex style to set the stage for a story that provides context in today’s political landscape. The actors have an undeniable chemistry that draws you into the world of a creative genius. Yet, delivers a message that illuminates our global culture and defines a world that must evolve, for harmony and humans rights for all. BRAVO cast, director and the entire creative team. This is a powerhouse performance that will embark on a trajectory that can’t be stopped ✌🏻"

Never meet your heroes
"A scorching look at an incident in the life of famed and revered author Roald Dahl. This is a classic case of love the art but not the creator. We have countless examples of this issue in life right now but I had not heard of this story in connection with a children’s book author I have loved my entire life. So I found the painful reveal of his closely held beliefs hit me to the core. Brilliantly acted by the wonderful John Lithgow who is surrounded by an excellent cast, it is a riveting expose that builds beautifully and with care by a very skilled playwright in the hands of an equally talented director. Is it a fun night at the theater? No. In fact, it made we extremely uncomfortable but then that is the point. Bring your thinking caps on and squirm a little. I think it’s good for us to occasionally pass on the happy musical and sit with strangers in a dark theatre and contemplate how someone so brilliant could hold deeply seated views that run contrary to how we hold them in our hearts.
