Brilliant in every respect
"Lithgow was outstanding. He “became”(entirely) the mercurial, towering, disdainful, and yet still strangely sympathetic Roald Dahl. The writing was crisp, the set a metaphor of chaos. And the topic — the dark and dangerous bigotry of antisemitism and anti-Zionism — could not have been more timely and relevant. The play is provocative, unsettling, and demands your attention. How do we reconcile creative genius with base hatred?"

Powerful and Disturbing
"Lithgow is one “giant” of an actor. So good. If you have a chance to see this play, don’t miss it. The discomfort is one of those aspects of writing and acting that signals thought provoking material and a reason why good plays are good."

Prescient
"The story - from 1983- could be rewritten today. Such a difficult topic. Moral angst. The weight of your employer threatening you. Money. All the elements of imperiled trauma."

GREAT PERFORMANCES
"The play was very watcheable. Although a very serious drama, there were more than a few funny moments. It is the actor's performances that made this such a good play. Of course, the play had to be well written to give the actors the opportunity to deliver such great performances. I recommend this highly."

A Difficult Subject Effectively Presented
"The whole cast were superb in their presentations of their part. John Lithgow was so believable in his part one had to stop at end and remind oneself he was simply playing a part. The play is a reminder that prejudice hides in plain sight, and silence comes at a cost. The themes are applicable today with similar and different focal points of bigotry and prejudice."

A Show You’ll Never Forget
"I went seeing this show not knowing what it was really about. I did this on purpose. Once it started I was startled a little about the subject matter and how this author who I’m a fan of was so blinded by his actions. The actors were superb and did their parts flawlessly. After the show, I went online to get more information about this incident and how it affected his next book and how the family dealt with it. "

Lithgow great. Dahl not so much.
"I bought tickets for Giant knowing next to nothing about it, other than that it starred the always-superb John Lithgow and was about Roald Dahl. Although I know most of Dahl's books, I had no idea this play was largely about his anti-Israel stance, which, it turns out, was anti-semitism. An excellent exploration of those nuances, which is highly relevant today. Giant is intense and thought provoking and the entire cast was excellent. Strong recommendation for people who enjoy dramas that provoke conversation."

A Must See!
"Riveting, timely, powerful and speaks directly to the times we are living through. Do we have to like or admire an artist to partake in the art they produce? A lot of powerful questions raised in this masterpiece! "

Powerful acting
"This is a must-see, particularly in these troubled times of hidden racism and antisemitism coming to the surface. The cast is exceptionally strong, with powerful performances by all. Each actor has their moment of taking over the stage, and John Lithgow, through Dahl, controls it all. Emotions shift from lightness to heaviness. "

Don't miss a chance to see John Lithgow
"I have long considered John Lithgow a guy I'd like to know. After Giant, I recognize that I probably couldn't form an English sentence if I talked to him. He is a "giant" of current theater- one of the most nuanced, profound performances I have seen in 45 years of Broadway shows. Timely issues expertly handled. Don't miss a chance to see this- and listen to his NPR interview too. A bright spot in a scary time."

Lithgow gives Giant performance despite venue
"The play and the performances of a very talented cast were outstanding. A very insightful and revealing biopic for the stage, “Giant” was a wonderful experience for my wife and I. I only wish I could say the same about the venue, Music Box Theater. Though charming and intimate with satisfactory acoustics and production value, it sadly is unable to keep out the cacophony of the city. Constant instances of distracting sirens and shouts from nearby crowds outside greatly diminished what would have been an amazing theatrical experience. "

A timely and relevant show
"I really enjoyed this play. The performances were outstanding and topic was very thought provoking. The issues are very relevant given the current situation in the middle east. It was special treat to see John Lithgow - he is still at the top of his game, even at 80!"
