Wife & I have waited years to see this… it did not disappoint!
"Wife and I had been talking about seeing this show for years and finally pulled the trigger. We were worried the show wouldn’t live up the hype or the pedestal we put it on. It lived up to the hype and then some. We’re big Harry Potter fans, her more than me but it was overall incredible, from beginning to end we were completely captivated. The special fx was literally like magic and so quick and subtle at times. Was worried we would be too far from the stage sitting in the right side dress circle but having the aisle seat helped my short wife and even though we were row F it was perfect and reasonably priced. We were so beyond thrilled, if you’re on the fence definitely go!!"

One Muggle's Dream Come True
"As a diehard HP superfan, I entered the beautiful Lyric Theathre with exceeding high expectations for the Cursed Child, and the play did not disappoint! My favorite feature of the show was its unique special effects, especially the one for the time-turner scenes--it was truly incredible! I knew the book version well which made it easier to follow the story, and I mention that because some older gentlemen in the crowd seemed a bit confused at times about what was going on. If you have read the other HP books (or seen the movies), however, you should be able to follow it just fine without reading the screenplay beforehand.
For young children, there were roughly two mildly scary scenes with the dementors that might frighten sensitive kids. With that said, HP and the Cursed Child did not seem to have anything worse than most Disney movies.
If you are still reading this review, I'm guessing you will love the show ALMOST as much as I did. "

More than expected
"When watching the video ads and reviews for this play I wasn’t sure if it would keep my kids attention. I was worried that the length would be too long or it would be too slow moving for my Harry Potter loving but very ADHD family. I couldn’t be more wrong. Absolutely recommend sitting in the lower sections for the full experience. But still really enjoyable in the top sections too. My kids left completely blow away and want to go back to see it again my self included. "

No singing... but great show
"The play was amazing! The actors were spot on. My niece absolutely loved it!!! I was slightly disappointed with the lack of musical numbers! There was some background music, but no singing. I've been to over 20 broadway shows and this was my first with no singing.
Side note, the ushers trying to prevent phone usage was way more distracting then the phones themselves.
But overall it was great! "
