Harry Potter
"I thought the idea of looking at the next generation and how the past effected them, and their interpertation of what happenend with their desire to go back and rectify the past was genius. "

Spectacular!!
"This play was an excellent display of lighting, special effects and staging. The story line was good. The microphone for Albus could have been a little louder. Difficult to hear his dialogue some of the time. Loved the costuming. So glad we went. One of our highlights in NYC. "

Great Set and Imagery
"I loved the way they changed scenes. The acting was great. They did a great job using the entire theater and including the audience. I loved the first act but didn’t like the second act as much. "

Not very accessible if you don’t speak perfect English
"I think they should offer some kind of leaflet with the explanation of the acts, for those who don’t understand English perfectly, since it’s a very wordy play and if you don’t master the language you can get a bit lost"

4/5 stars
"Over all the show was great with the storyline and effects. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the start was very slow and boring but after it picked up it was great"

Enjoyable for older kids
"I really enjoyed the show. It had a more serious (pun intended) side to it than i expected. And that’s why i would recommend it to somewhat older children 8 or up. Also because it could be rather scary for young children and not in a good way.? I think it could have been a bit more playful. All things considered though, it was well done and vai like it. It was a good performance with good players. "

Mischief Managed
"What happens after the train station seen 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts? After the 19 years we know Harry's scar has never hurt, and "all is well". But does this continue for the rest of their lives, or is there more to this story? To find out, head over to your local theater district to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. As potent a visual a show as we have seen in an musical, the familiarity allows us to easily immerse ourselves back into the worlds of magic. Top notch illusions and fantastic dialog and story path brings us right back into this world. My only complaint is with the music selection. Harry Potter's story touches all of our emotions and senses, and to leave out the musical scores from the films (utilized so well in other areas like TV Specials and Theme Park Lands). It leaves us with numerous times with no audio that impairs the emotional flow of the performances. Still, the story line will keep you guessing, and the performers will bring you back to a world of magical mischief and intrigue that must be managed. "

A little slow to start but overall Phenomenal
"The acting was fantastic as were all of the special effects and stage. The music was fabulous. If you are looking for singing, this is not the show. The story develops rather slowly but by the end you’ll be on your feet. Overall an enjoyable afternoon. As a side note Be aware that if you bring ANY snacks or drinks they will require you to discard them prior to entering. "

Great effects
"Enjoyed the play and especially the special effects. Acting was very good. I was disappointed how the show presented one of the main characters. The actors playing Harry and Ron were really in character and did an excellent job. "

So good you would think you were watching a movie
" Really well acted the sets and special effects amazing. Smaller kids may be frightened by some of the performance and special effects. Went with grown up daughter who is huge Harry Potter fan and she really enjoyed. Definitely a great show for Harry Potters fans it will not dissappoint."

Entertaining From Start to Finish
" Entertaining show from start to finish! Absolutely loved it! The only negatives, were outside the show itself. The seating in the Lyric theater was less than ideal. Despite being second row from the front (in dress circle), we had two very large gentlemen in front of us posing a large obstruction. Secondly, the concessions were VERY slow. We got on line for concessions 15minutes before show time and still barely made it to our seats before the show started. All things considered, we still loved the show, and would recommend to others. Harry Potter fans will love this show!
"Stage production and special effects truly made this production! The dementor scenes were simply spectacular. Based on some of the questions I could hear younger children whisper to their parents, the plot may be a bit difficult to follow if unfamiliar with the book. But still worth it; plus seeing audience members dressed in their Hogwarts robes etc added to the excitement."

Great Show
"I thought the show was excellent. Actors and actresses' were very good, completely in character. You definitely need to understand the harry potter series in order to understand the show. The theatrical effects, the magic, the lighting, music all incredible! Venue was very nice, clean, little pricy for refreshments. The process to get in and seated was very easy and people were very helpful. "

A magical and dramatic celebration of my 72nd birthday
"Perhaps geared toward a younger, and more "with it" audience of older children and parent-aged adults, I enjoyed the creative stagecraft of magic and mystery in this presentation. The time travel aspect could have been confusing so I was glad I reviewed the HP movies beforehand, particularly the Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows, so I could better understand the story. It was suspenseful and dramatic, yet, at times, touching and hilarious too. Highly recommended! "

Breathtaking Performances!
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was an awesome play with spectacular magic and performing. Even if you did not ever read or see the movies of Harry Potter you could follow the storyline. My adult children have been fans since their youth and I have grown up with Harry Potter because of them. My husband had never seen Harry Potter and absolutely loved the performance. I would highly recommend this broadway play. Thank you for such an amazing experience!! "

Brilliant stage production and a wonderful experience
"As an old fan of the books, seeing the magic come to life in front of me was amazing. I wasn't disappointed by any of the effects for the spells, the staircases, the sounds, the lighting, etc. The story is fine, but nothing more than a vessel to house a really good stage production"
