A Must-See for Any Potter Fan Visiting NYC
"We caught the Thursday 7 PM show with our two kids (8 and 11), both huge Harry Potter fans, and it did not disappoint. The stagecraft is genuinely the best I've seen on Broadway — without spoiling anything, there are transformations and effects happening right in front of you that left all four of us trying to figure out how they pulled it off. Even knowing it was theater, it felt like magic.
At just under three hours with one intermission, it's a real commitment for kids, but ours stayed locked in — the story moves, and being familiar with the books/movies going in made a huge difference in following the plot. If your kids know the Wizarding World well, they'll be completely absorbed.
The Lyric Theatre itself added to the experience — Butterbeer delivered right to our seats, and the lobby has Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's for intermission. It's a short walk from the Times Square hotels, which made the whole evening easy logistically.
One tip: use the bathroom before curtain and again early at intermission — lines get long fast with a full house.
Highly recommend for any family of Potter fans visiting NYC"

Exceeded Expecations
"This was the first Broadway show for my family and me - we had been to other plays in the past, but this one turned into the best in-person show we had ever seen. It was what you would expect from professionals, and we absolutely loved every minute of it. Highly recommended viewing for adults and families with middle school & high school children. "

It Really is Magic
"One of the best shows we’ve seen in years! The “magic” is phenomenal and the young actors playing Scorpius and Albus stole the show. Love the new single show format. "

Amazing!
"My children are Harry Potter fans and I have not watched the movies or read the books. The synopsis provided in the email leading up to the show was so helpful and then my kiddos have me a run down, I had no trouble following the show and have now become a Harry Potter fan! I can’t wait to watch all the movies and dive in! The cast was incredible and the production was amazing!!!"

Best show I've ever seen here!
"That was the most incredible thing I've seen theatrically. At times we felt like it was a magic show happening around us. Amazing use of lighting and audio to submerse us in the story. It's too difficult to describe how awesome it was other than to tell others to just come see it already! "

Fantastic Show
"The performance was truly incredible and launched you into an immersive experience of the magical world of Harry Potter. The production quality was so high with several moments leaving me asking how could they have pulled that off right in front of us! The actors were so talented and really brought their characters to life! I would highly reccomend going and particularly trying to see Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy if you can!!"

Such an amazing experience.
"It’s been days and my wife and I still talk about it. The actors were all so fantastic (including Tom Fulton back as Draco!) You can feel the passion and enjoyment in the performance. The stage effects are unlike anything I’ve seen - it was like watching a magic show while watching a show about magic. It’s one of the few times I’ll say watching it is so much better than just reading it. My only recommendation is for women to use the bathroom beforehand - there was a loooooooong line during intermission. "

An Amazing Experience
"This was my first performance seen on broadway, and the show was incredible. Every actor was talented and did a terrific job. The actors of Albus and Scorpius had great chemistry and the storyline involving the time turner was intriguing. I loved seeing the older enemy-like dynamic between Harry and Draco, as well as the opportunity to see Tom Felton return to play his own character. He did a particularly amazing job and I was lucky enough to get his autograph after. The special effects were shockingly good, especially the spells using their wands, and made the show feel so magical and real. There were moments that made me laugh and the overall story felt just like the movies. I recommend this show to anyone who loves Harry Potter and wants to learn of the next generation of witches and wizards."
