Entertaining From Start to Finish
" Entertaining show from start to finish! Absolutely loved it!
The only negatives, were outside the show itself. The seating in the Lyric theater was less than ideal. Despite being second row from the front (in dress circle), we had two very large gentlemen in front of us posing a large obstruction. Secondly, the concessions were VERY slow. We got on line for concessions 15minutes before show time and still barely made it to our seats before the show started.
All things considered, we still loved the show, and would recommend to others. "

Harry Potter fans will love this show!
"Stage production and special effects truly made this production! The dementor scenes were simply spectacular. Based on some of the questions I could hear younger children whisper to their parents, the plot may be a bit difficult to follow if unfamiliar with the book. But still worth it; plus seeing audience members dressed in their Hogwarts robes etc added to the excitement."

"I thought the show was excellent. Actors and actresses' were very good, completely in character. You definitely need to understand the harry potter series in order to understand the show. A magical and dramatic celebration of my 72nd birthday
"Perhaps geared toward a younger, and more "with it" audience of older children and parent-aged adults, I enjoyed the creative stagecraft of magic and mystery in this presentation. The time travel aspect could have been confusing so I was glad I reviewed the HP movies beforehand, particularly the Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows, so I could better understand the story. It was suspenseful and dramatic, yet, at times, touching and hilarious too. Highly recommended! "

Breathtaking Performances!
"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was an awesome play with spectacular magic and performing. Even if you did not ever read or see the movies of Harry Potter you could follow the storyline. My adult children have been fans since their youth and I have grown up with Harry Potter because of them. My husband had never seen Harry Potter and absolutely loved the performance. I would highly recommend this broadway play. Thank you for such an amazing experience!! "

Go for the theater, not for Harry Potter
"While I know the whole HP story, I'm not precisely a fan, so the story in it wasn't of a major interest for me. Specially when other potterhead friends of mine told me how bad the script was. I confirmed that, in fact, the script is bad. I'm talking "my fourth fanfic" level of bad, filled with cliches and already seen before tropes. But it is a vehicle for the company to put a great display of theatrical effects. Every trick of the book is here, plus some you may not have considered. The acting is excellent, the props amazing, and surprises a-plenty. Definitely worth it as a theater experience, though not if you want a particularly well written story. Fans will be delighted, of course, and non-fans will be entertained enough by the continuous display of theatrical tricks."

"Das Theaterstück an sich hat eine echt gute Aufmachung, die Darsteller waren ebenfalls sehr gut, vor allem die Maulende Myrte. Die Story selbst, ist wirklich schlecht um es auf den Punkt zu bringen. Teils sehr verwirrend und einfach zu viele wiedersprüche zum Potterverse.

I realized pretty quickly that I should have finished the movies and/or books because there are spoilers. It also would have been less confusing in parts, if I had.
