Emotion, Creativity, and Wonder
""Maybe Happy Ending" is a captivating exploration of love, loneliness, and the essence of being human. I was swept away by the energy and creativity of this production, which I loved! The standout performances of the actors were delightful. Their clear, crisp voices resonated throughout the theater, bringing a lively spirit to the play's comedic and serious moments. Their impeccable timing—especially during the wonderfully crafted comedic banter—made the audience laugh and reflect equally. It was impressive to see new talent shine so brightly on Broadway. Thematically, "Maybe Happy Ending" dives deep into profound questions: Can robots love? What is the true nature of love? What is loneliness? How do we define happiness, joy, and even sadness? The play challenges viewers to confront these questions while weaving them through a narrative that strikes a perfect balance between humor and depth. The staging was nothing short of extraordinary. The creative design drew focus to the characters, enhancing their stories beautifully. A standout moment was the firefly scene—how did they create such an enchanting effect with fireflies floating into the audience? It was truly mesmerizing! The original compositions were fresh and exciting. Blended with the memorable jazz tunes speckled throughout the play, the combination created a delightful auditory backdrop as the story moved forward. The performers excelled not only individually, with distinct and clear voices, but also in their harmonies, making each song a treat for the ears. I wholeheartedly recommend "Maybe Happy Ending" to anyone seeking a theatrical experience that will make them laugh, cry, and think. This play is a beautiful testament to the power of storytelling and the emotional spectrum of the human experience. "

The best new show in a long time
"This was without question the best new musical I have seen in a long time, and among the best theatre I’ve seen. The story is original, funny, and in the end deeply touching. It poses questions about the purpose of love and human connections that are destined not to last a lifetime. While it centres on characters who are are not alive, the dilemma they are faced with is at the core of what it means to be human. The original songs are up there with some of broadway’s best, and the set design is unparalleled. There is a scene in the second half with live orchestra members on stage that is breathtaking both in how visually stunning it was and in its palpable outpouring of emotion. The small cast is fantastic, and in particular Helen Shein is a joy to watch. The entire show is a true gift to Broadway, and something not to be missed. "

Loved it, but seat selection is critical to see everything
"Great performances and funnier than expected. Both leads have wonderful voices. Interesting set and production that I have never seen before. However, while the set was cool, many seats had blocked views. I think most of the mezzanine was fine except the very edges, but orchestra and balcony seats seemed like they would be partially blocked even in the center."

A beautiful testament to the power of theater
"This show was so beautiful. I was tearing up from the opening song and weeping by the end. But it wasn’t a miserable kind of sadness, just so sweet and so beautifully resonant. The performers were all bringing their A game and the production design was unmatched. This was my favorite live theatrical performance I’ve ever seen. "

A unique and original experience
"“Maybe Happy Ending” was one of the most breathtaking, beautiful productions I’ve seen. Micheal Arden’s direction and vision shines through creating incredible visual images for this compelling story. Helen Shen, Darren Criss, the cast and orchestra delivered phenomenal performances. Even though I was very far back- the staging worked in a way that there was very few moments I missed. Each element of this show was expertly married together to create a truly wonderful, tear at your heart strings story."

Just Amazing!
"I was prepared for a original Broadway experience. I wasn't prepared for the overwhelming awe I experienced watching this show. I found myself crying just from the joy and depth of feelings this show was able to convey. The actors and the innovative technology and stage craft combined to make this some of the best theater I've ever seen. As an added Bonus, if you had told me that Darren Criss was an actual robot I would have believed you, what an absolute amazing performance down to the last subtle detail!"
