"The cast was incredible. You could tell the audience was having a good time because the whole sold out theater was laughing from beginning to end! Very original and so funny. It was a much needed great time! "

Laughing is my favorite!
"And there was plenty of opportunity to laugh during this show. So irreverent and so funny at the same time. I loved the actors’ facial expressions and the physical humor. The story has an awesome twist to go along with the hilarious interaction between the players. There is some language that some folks might consider inappropriate, but it just made it incredibly humorous for me. It is supposed to be funny and the creator’s imagining of the relationship between Mary and Abraham had me in tears. It feels so good to go home still laughing about what we saw."

My second time
"I first saw the show with Jane Krakowski and saw it yesterday with Hannah. It was excellent both times and each actress brought her own spin to Mary. The show is hilarious and very quick. I would see it again!"

Exceed all expectations!. I laughed and laughed
"I loved the plot, the witty dialogues and the fast rhythm. The actor, especially the main character, Mary, VERY funny, a riot. His improvised monologue, when his character was in an audition for a part in a theatre piece, a master act."

I absolutely adored Oh, Mary!
"I absolutely adored Oh, Mary!—it was one of the funniest, most joyfully unhinged theatrical experiences I’ve had in a long time. John Cameron Mitchell delivers a performance that’s both razor‑sharp and completely free‑spirited, the kind of comedy that feels effortless even though you know every beat is crafted with precision.
What I loved most was how the show balances big, ridiculous humor with a surprising amount of heart. It’s outrageous in all the best ways, full of bold choices and clever moments that keep you laughing long after the scene has changed. Mitchell’s timing, expression, and commitment to the role make the entire production feel electric.
I walked out grinning, replaying lines in my head, and wishing I could see it again immediately. If you’re looking for something genuinely funny with an unmistakable spark, Oh, Mary! is an absolute must."

My cheeks hurt !
"We needed a little laughter in our lives and this provided it in spades. Truly loved it and the fact there was no intermission ! My ONE regret is finding out after that the only way to get the cup was by purchasing a drink they were not available at the merch shop after and I can't find one online. The play was recommended by my tennis partner as I said "Oh Mary" after missing a shot !"

It was soooo funny
"I loved the acting, it was incredible. I loved the story. I loved how they used modern language, they swore. I loved the costumes and the set and the end was amazing! It was just alot of fun. The show felt like it went so fast because I was having such a great time. I laughed until I cried. I even cried in moments that were meaningful because the acting was so good "

Oh Mary. Oh My God.
"John Cameron Mitchell kills as the titular heroine? Antagonist? Pièce de résistance? It’s naughty good fun & a good twist on the Honest Abe pantheon. He’s honestly hiding a secret! 🤫 maybe it’s John Wilkes Booth 😉"

Believe the hype.
"I’d heard nothing but good things about the show, which often sets me up for disappointment. Not the case with “Oh, Mary!” Genuinely, the most fun I’ve had in ages and was truly surprised a couple times, too. I took a Broadway newbie with me who loved every minute, as well. "

About
Oh, Mary!
Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).
Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
