Queerest show on Broadway?
"I loved this show so much that I had to call my sister to recount in detail every major plot point and joke in the entire show. she is so sick of me! The show was laugh out loud funny, and I loved the unconventional approach to history. History is in the eye of the beholder as they say! "

Absolutely hilarious
"The show is a raunchy comedy about a fictionalized Mary Todd Lincoln. Only a special person, Cole Escola, could write and then act that part. Nothing could have prepared me for the plot twists of the show. A fabulously hilarious bit of theater! "

Worth a trip from Ireland
"That I entirely forgot about the vertigo induced by my nosebleed seat in the balcony within 30 seconds of curtain up is a testament to the sheer hilarity and antic perfection that is "Oh, Mary!" I laughed so hard my face still hurts days later, and I'm not remotely mad about it (or the jetlag). Thank you to the entire company, crew, and staff for a magical experience. "

Fantastic cast strong script and lots of laughs
"This is raunchy, bawdy and deliciously fun. Get the best seat you can to see the facial expressions, and be prepared to laugh hard. Note that the jokes are irreverent and subversive, but there is also power in representation of this story. 5/5 recommend. "

Brilliantly Written
"The historical figures are rendered neutral by the writing, allowing almost any actor and acting style to portray them with relevance. Could have done without the 'fluff' acts. They felt like filler to extend the length of the show to make it 80 minutes. And made for a slow start. But overall one of the best shows in seasons."

Run don’t walk to see Oh Mary
"This is one of the funniest shows ever. Thank you Cole Escola for writing this amazing piece of theater. I have not laughed so hard in a very long time. The entire cast blew us away. Jane Krakowski as Mary is perfect casting. Loved the performance of Cheyenne Jackson as Mary’s teacher. I suggest everyone see this show. You will not regret it."

Mary Drags Abe Drags Mary
"Sharply written adult humor, with Mary's lines delivered with full body Monty Python action! Who knew Abe had such a big desk and truly drove Mary to the brink! Very funny, non-stop humor delivered by small cast of characters who fully deliver every moment on the stage. Belly laughs galore! Added to the list on short trip to NYC and very happy I did!"

About Oh, Mary!

Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).

Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
