Funny AF
"This is probably the funniest show I’ve ever seen and definitely the silliest. Betty Gilpin is BRILLIANT and the rest of the cast is wonderful. Run to see it (unless you’re a prude)."

Hilarious performance
"The play is a small cast ensemble with actors playing multiple parts. Very funny performance of campy characters. Playwright was performing as Mary when I saw it and was so perfect that I cannot imagine another performer doing as well in that role."

Hilarious absurdity.
"I am 70 year old male originally from suburban New Jersey that has seen dozens of Broadway shows.
OH Mary had Superb acting by the original cast. An absurd premise combined with perfectly timed fast-moving, clever, comic dialogue made for a delightful evening.
Brilliant writing with an unexpected climax.
If you enjoy over the top comedy combined with farcical sexuality, you will love this show. "

A Creative Use of Satiric Comedy

About
Oh, Mary!
Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).
Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
