Loved it
"It is funny, it is witty, it’s captivating. Betty is even better on stage than on screen. She is a woman of many talents. Bianca, Tony, Philip and Chris are amazing - the whole cast complement each other like flowers in a perfectly composed bouquet. It was a fun Friday evening! "

Favorite type of off color comedy
"This show is a must see! The entire cast was amazing. We were laughing our butts off throughout the show. Betty Gillpin is hilarious and shows that through the dialogue and physicality of the character! My daughter and I saw it and couldn’t stop chuckling on the walk back from the theatre. "

Madcap, gender bending, history spoofing entertainment
"Great performances, especially by creator Cole Escola, who is leaving the show. Some physical, almost slapstick, comedy that we rarely see these days. Didn’t laugh out loud much, but smiled throughout."

Funniest 90 minutes you'll ever spend!!
"I first saw Cole Escola (in Mary Todd costume!) on the Seth Myers show; I'd never heard of him before. He was hysterically funny, clever, quick witted and I immediately decided I had to go see "Oh, Mary!" -- I've seen it twice now and if I could afford it, I'd go again and again. It is absolutely hysterical; best 90 minutes you could spend anywhere! I promise, you will be laughing from beginning to end! OK, language definitely "quite colorful," but I'm OK with that. Acting is superb, esp. Cole and Conrad Ricamora; small cast, but the others are great too. It's silly, absurd, ridiculous and ever so enjoyable!! Cole's leaving the show on Jan. 19, so get your tickets now if you want to see him! Betty Gilpin will be replacing him in the title role. The funniest play I've ever seen!! "

Believe the Hype
"I was skeptical when my friend suggested this show, but in the weeks leading up to it, many funny people - Seth Meyers, Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett among them - highly recommended this show and they were right. Cole Escola's play is ridiculous, historically inaccurate, raunchy, and probably offensive, to most, but he and the entire cast are hilarious. I giggled from beginning to end. This may be one of those shows where the creator may be the best/only interpreter of the material, but time will tell. Rush to see it before Cole's run ends, if you can."

About
Oh, Mary!
Oh, Mary! is a dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).
Declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times, Oh, Mary! received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
