"To appreciate the show you need to be familiar with the history of Henry the this wives. The acoustics made it very difficult to understand the singers. On the positive side, it was over in an hour and 20 minutes."

Great music, terrible book
"Music is definitely worthwhile, but the book just consists of the 6 wives bickering and grilling each other for an hour, and then they make up at the very end. This show functions more as a rock concert than an actual musical. "

A concert more then a Broadway show.
"The singing and dancing was great. Some of the lines were funny but I didn't feel like it was a broadway show. I felt like it was more of a concert. It was nice that they told you about each one of the wives before they sang there feelings about being married to Henry the 8th. I was disappointed. Don't get me wrong it was great for a concert but to me all of the broadway shows I have seen this to me was not a broadway show. "

Least favorite Broadway show I’ve seen
"This was way overrated IMO. Some of the songs were catchy but overall my family just didn’t get it. We’ve seen some great ones in our recent trips to nyc - wicked, lion king, Hamilton, once upon a mattress, Jersey boys, how the grinch stole Christmas, MJ the musical… but this one fell short for us. There wasn’t a storyline which is what we like about plays as opposed to this which was like a concert. To each his own, but not one I would ever watch again or recommend. "

Disappointing
"Did not enjoy the show and was so disappointed. There just wasn’t much to it..no set changes, costume changes and singing was not the best. It sounded more like American Idol sing off. Choreography was lacking and not cohesive talent. It just didn’t measure up to a Broadway show."

Sorta Enjoyable
"Factoring in the cost of tickets and the variety of shows available, I would recommend “Six” if nothing else is available and you’re desperate to see a live performance. We could not make out all of the words. Summing up, sorta enjoyable. "

Not worth the money
"I liked the story but not the concept. Only one queen was a standout singer. I thought the songs were kinda lazily written and costumes just didn't hit for me. It's hard to marry pop style with broadway style. It was a missed opportunity to have a great show. It wasn't horrible but for the price of admission not worth it."

Etwas langweilig
"Nur sechs Spieler die etwas über ihre Figur als eine der Frauen von Heinrich VIII singen. Keine richtige Story dahinter. Wird in einer einzigen Kulisse gespielt. Show dauert auch nicht lange. War etwas enttäuscht."

Nope.
"The show lacked imagination, substance, and humor. It was a disappointment because it could have been a clever comedy about women coping with marriages in which the power dynamics were stacked against them. The writers could have examined some of Henry's mistaken beliefs - namely, that the woman determined the gender of a baby. Instead, each wife sang one song about her travails. The references to beheading grew old as the wives bantered with each other about who suffered the most. I really expected to like the show, but I didn't."

Not a musical
"We have been to multiple musicals in different countries and were exited to see one in broadway. Some of us like history so the musical Six sounded like the best choice.
It ended being the wrong choice. It was only singing and not at all what I would call a musical. Maybe a music concert.
One in our group had never seen a musical before and we ended up trying to defend what a musical really is after seeing Six and explaining that this is not normal. However it doesn’t seem like he will ever se another musical after this
The quality of the music was good, but just to much music"

Not interesting

a rock concert not a broadway show
"The singers had good voices, but that's where the good part ends. The stage setting was static and boring. There was no scenery to speak of, just a couple of musicians who remained in place. There were no costume changes or plot. The delivery of the songs was more shouting than singing. The overall volume was an assault on the eardrums. The use of Strobe lights in a small theater made you worry that someone in the audience could have a convulsion. It comes across like a rock concert, not a Broadway show. Overall, a real waste of money!"

The musical was not what it tried to be.
"This musical attempted to be many things and it fell short. It claims to be a historical feminist musical, but you don’t learn any history. You don’t learn about the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII or who they were as people(it’s really just stuff that everyone knows going into it like how they died). The dialogue pits the women against each other and makes them sound like catty, arrogant drama queens who are competing in a pity Olympics (they literally fight over who had more miscarriages). In the last 10 minutes they pretend that the whole play was a self aware joke to make the audience examine our preconceived notions, but it feels lazy and inauthentic. It seems like the director wrote a horribly anti-feminist script, realized it at the end and instead of changed it just wrote one Reverse Uno song claiming they knew it was problematic the whole time and that the audience is the insensitive one.
Plus it’s is not even a musical, it’s just a singing competition. There are no set changes, costumes changes, dancing, or different scenes.
To matters even worse the singing is mid and the acting is cringey. "

Really amateurish music and plot
"What a waste of money. I felt like I lost IQ points watching this show. It caters to 12-year-old pop culture fans. We saw "Book of Mormon" and "Water for Elephants" the next two nights, and both were 10x better."

Disappointing
"This was the first Broadway show we've seen that we didn't enjoy. It wasn't musical theatre at all. It was more like a hip hop concert. We were expecting a musical take on the history of the 6 wives. Instead, the premise of the show was each wife was trying to show that she had it worst while married to the king. There was very little dialog. Just an hour & twenty minutes of angry songs. Very disappointing. "

Different
"Not your typical Broadway show. No set changes or big cast just 5 singers and a band on stage. So if a big glitzy Broadway musical is what you seek this may not be for you. Having said that the show was very good. The talent was top notch, with good songs. A little dancing and the cast was very energetic. Not what I expected but was happily surprised. You will be entertained."
From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to remix five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over!
